Prerequisites

Step 1: Create a project

Go to the Home page and start a new project. You have three options:

  • Type a story idea into the chat and let the AI help you develop it

  • Upload a**.txt**** file** with your story (up to 4,000 characters)

  • Pick a sample prompt to see how the platform works

You can start with a story, or ask for another audio format such as a song, podcast, lecture, or quick voice/sound clip.

Starting with a sample prompt is the fastest way to see what Brainports can do. You can always edit the story afterward.

Step 2: Review your script

Once you submit your story, the AI generates a structured script in the Canvas tab. The script includes:

  • Character voice assignments — each character gets a distinct voice

  • Sound effect cues — environmental and action sounds placed at the right moments

  • Music direction — background music matched to the mood of each scene

Read through the script and make any edits you want before generating audio. You can change dialogue, adjust sound cues, rename characters, or rearrange scenes.

Step 3: Generate audio

Open the Audio tab and choose what to generate:

  • All — voices, sound effects, and music together

  • Voices only — just the character dialogue and narration

  • SFX and music only — just the sound effects and background music

Click Generate and watch the real-time progress as each element is created.

Generation typically takes 30 seconds to a few minutes depending on the length of your story and the scope you selected.

Step 4: Edit in the timeline

Once generation is complete, the timeline editor lets you fine-tune everything:

  • Drag segments to adjust timing and placement

  • Adjust volumes for individual voices, effects, and music

  • Regenerate individual parts you're not happy with

  • Add effects and processing like voice filters, panning, compression, and loudness adjustments

  3. Set your preferred bitrate and loudness level

  4. Download your finished audio file
