Sound Effects
Generate custom sound effects from text descriptions to bring your scenes to life.
How It Works
Describe a sound in plain language, and the AI generates it for you. No sound library browsing, no licensing headaches — just type what you need.

Examples:
-
"Thunder rolling in the distance"
-
"Footsteps on gravel, slow pace"
-
"Busy coffee shop with clinking cups and muffled conversation"
-
"Car engine starting on a cold morning"
Duration
Sound effects can be 2 to 30 seconds long. Choose a duration that fits your scene.
Prompting Tips
The more specific your description, the better the result.
Describe the sound, not the action. "Heavy rain on a tin roof" works better than "it's raining."
Good prompts include:
-
Environment — Where is the sound happening? Indoors, outdoors, underwater?
-
Intensity — Soft, loud, distant, close-up?
-
Texture — Sharp, rumbling, metallic, organic?
-
Duration cues — Sustained, brief, fading out?
Two Ways to Generate
From Chat
Ask Narra for a standalone sound effect in plain language, such as "generate rain sound" or "create heavy footsteps in a quiet hallway." Narra will prepare a sound-effect clip for you to review and generate.
In Your Script
When the AI writes your script, it automatically includes sound effect cues at the right moments. These are generated alongside your voices and music during audio production.
Standalone (Media Library)
You can also generate sound effects on their own from the Media Library. This is useful when you want to:
-
Experiment with different sound descriptions
-
Build up a collection of effects before starting a project
-
Create effects for use across multiple projects
Save to Library
When you generate a sound effect you love, save it to your Media Library. Saved effects can be reused in any project — just drag them onto the timeline.
Availability
Sound effect generation is available on all plans, with per-plan generation limits. Check your plan details for specifics.
