Preset voices are built-in and ready to go. No configuration, no waiting — just pick one and start generating audio.

Preset voices are included with every plan, including Free. They're the fastest way to get started.

Choosing a Preset Voice

Open the voice picker when editing a segment or setting up a character. You'll see a list of preset voices, each with a preview so you can hear what they sound like before selecting.

You'll find two collections of preset voices:

Standard voices: Alloy, Echo, Fable, Onyx, Nova, Shimmer

Expressive voices (with emotion and instruction support): Ryan, Aria, Eva, Josh, Sofia, Alex, Michael, Emily, James

The expressive voices support per-segment delivery instructions (see below), while standard voices provide reliable, consistent output.

Emotion and Style Control

Preset voices aren't static. You can add delivery instructions to each segment to control how the voice sounds in that moment.

Try instructions like:

• "speak excitedly"
• "whisper"
• "sound worried and rushed"
• "read slowly with gravitas"
• "laugh softly before speaking"

The same preset voice can sound completely different depending on the emotion and delivery you specify.

50+ Languages

Preset voices support over 50 languages. Select the language for your project and the voices will generate speech in that language naturally.

When to Use Preset Voices

Preset voices are a great fit when you:

• Want to get started quickly without any setup
• Are on the Free plan
• Need a reliable, consistent voice for narration
• Are experimenting with different styles before committing to a custom voice
